Hi!  My name is Erika and I am a writer/novelist living in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.  The majestic mountains, local wildlife, and natural beauty that surrounds me fuels my imagination to create magical realms.  I am told that I am a walking contradiction.  I am a vegetarian foodie who can’t cook but goes on many culinary exploits.  I love music but my prowess in the art of bad dancing is legendary.  I often dress up for no reason but I am ever-ready for a thrilling adventure. I have a lifelong passion for words and it is their evocative power that led me to embrace my calling as an author. My dream is to inspire others through with my storytelling, and I work diligently to turn this dream into a reality.

I have a deep-rooted knowledge of natural healing.  This includes massage therapy, reiki, aromatherapy, and Ayurvedic medicine. My love for fairytales and folklore have turned me into an amateur folklorist.  All of these things I like to incorporate into my fictional stories.  Normally I work as a floral apprentice at a beautiful flower shop called Peaseblossom (Yes, just like the Shakespearean flower fairy).  It is a magical place where natural beauty and magic come together in the best ways. It is the most inspiring place to be when you are a blossoming author because we bring light, joy, and colour to the city.

When I am not writing, I enjoy swimming, yoga, riding my bike all over the city, volunteering in my community, gardening, and socializing with my friends.  I am dedicated to helping out others in any way that I can through many volunteer pursuits.  This includes helping animals find homes, educating the public on wildlife conservation, donating at blood drives, working at my community garden, tutoring others with writing and understanding English.
